The artist known as Nebu, throughout the internet art community, started as just another artist in a mass of anonymity.
Her real name is Shelley Bergen, a native Canadian. Nebu soon shed that anonymity, with one piece called Ophelia. It was this piece that brought her some attention in the art community, though it was slow at first. The attention, did however, catch the eye of Thirddementia, the leader of a new art group, called Twisted Realmz. Shelley was immediately asked to join TR, and from there, she became a cornerstone of an art group long thought to shed traditional ideas and rules. Shelley's art exploded with her work that was present in the Issue 3 release of TR, The community, at that time, was already buzzing about her, and after that point, she exploded onto the digital art world.
The rest was history.
Since her meteoric rise to becoming the "Queen of Dark Art", as many have christened her, her work has become more evolved, moving away from traditional manipulations and focusing more on her digital painting skill. If at all possible, the love of her within the art community has only grown. Shelley has gone on to found Groundfrost Illustration and Design, with fellow artist Antti Isosomppi, Anatheme, where they have collaborated on multiple projects with high prestige, including artwork for The Black Eyed Peas and The Killers.
Shelley has redefined the dark art genre, as well as the ideas of great artists in the community. Through her professionalism, with Groundfrost, or through her communication with many young artists on the web, she has proven time and again, that creativity and a level of excellence can be achieved through diligence, attention to details and inspiration.
